Cambridge Project 2

This unashamedly modern addition of a three storey glass barrel-vaulted conservatory to the rear of an early Victorian terraced property in the centre of Cambridge was a response to a demanding client brief and an even more problematic site.

The solution of gutting everything between the main house and the pre-existing two storey extension allowed the creation of a large internal balcony looking down into a well-planted conservatory with trees and climbing plants filling the large vertical void.

Even though the property is in a Conservation Area, a well designed modern solution met with no opposition from the conservationists.
